Problem is...

9= 3 over 7p?

P.S. you have to write down the equation problem, in order for you to understand what I mean, since I can't use fraction keys on here. Help... I don't get this.

9 = 3/(7p)
63p = 3
p = 3/63 = 1/21

in either case of 9 = [3/7]p or = 3 / (7p) you multiply both sides by [ 7 / 3 ]

to get either 21 = p OR = 1 / p { here p = 1 / 21 }

9 = 3/(7p)

multiple both sides of equation by 7p

7p(9) = 3/(7p) (7p)

the 7p's cancle out to 1 and we are left with 3 on right hand side

63p = 3

divide both sides by 63 and the 63/63 = 1p = p on left while the right side is 3/63

63/63(p) = 3/63

p = 3/63

reduce 3/63 to 1/21

p = 1/21

Multiply both sides by 7 p to get rid of your denominator?

9*7p=3

63p=3
p=1/21
