Based upon this patient’s presentation and need to increase activity and gain independence, the healthcare provider most likely needed for this patient will be the physical therapist. Speech therapy would be used to improve a patient’s speech. The social worker works with patients to locate appropriate resources after the discharge. Occupational therapy focuses on the patient’s abilities in performing activities of daily living.
