how do you use implicit differentiation to find an equation of the tangent line to the curve x^2+ 2xy-y^2+x=-1 at the point (1,3).  The answer has to be in the form y=mx+b...please help

take the derivative of the function

2x+2x(dy/dx) +2y-2y(dy/dx)+1=0

2x + 2y +1 = (2y-2x)(dy/dx)

y' = (2x+2y+1)/(2y-2x)

plug in one for x, 3 for y

y' = 9/4 (at (1,3))

tangent line =

y - 3 = 9/4(x-1)

y - 3 = 9x/4 - 9/4

y = 9x/4 +3/4

My math could very well be wrong, but check the steps
