A car (on earth) accelerated from rest to 96km/h in 3.07s on a level road. The acceleration of a car is the result of static friction between the tires and the road. Using this information calculate the coefficient of static friction between the tires and the road.

Can someone please explain to me how you would solve a problem like this? My physics teacher just pulls random numbers and formulas from space and somehow makes it work.
