3 -- This patient’s findings are most consistent with Gaucher disease, which is more common in descendants of Jewish people from Eastern Europe. The disorder results in lack of an enzyme to break down fats. Fats accumulate in the liver, spleen, and bone marrow, causing pain, fatigue, jaundice, bone damage, anemia, and even death.
