I know directrix and focus have an equidistant with the vertex. What if the problem is to find the focus and the directrix of a parabola with given its vertex.

How will know on what equation of a line the directrix is located? Is it any where as long as it has the same distance of the focus?

My problem is to find the the directrix of the parabola, given its parabola equation and the vertex only? anyone?
