Consider yourself walking along the beach at sunset, cool sand under your toes where waves wash up as the tide comes in. That "sea breeze" you feel on your cheek comes from afar, blowing from the sea, carrying scents of distant places. Shortly after sunset a "land breeze" will flow from the warmer air over the land out towards the rapidly cooling air over the sea.

sea breeze - from the sea towards shore

land breeze - from the land towards the water

A sea breeze is a wind from the sea that develops over land. A land breeze is the opposite. It is a wind from land that develops over oceans or water.
