Which ones are able to and which ones are not? Also I am a little confused as to what a plasma membrane is, does anyone have clarification on this?

And last part, I understand that there are different types of carbohydates for examples Monosaccharides and Polysaccharides, or different types of Proteins like fibrous and globular Rightwards Arrow will these different types affect the ability to diffuse through a plasma membrane and will it change the polarity? Subunits? or functional groups?

The plasma membrane of a cell is almost like a 'barrier' and general structure of the cell, it keeps all the cell organelle and cytoplasm in place, and allows substances in and out of the cell. I do not believe carbohydrates, proterins, and lipids can easily diffuse through the cell membrane. I'm not dure about nucleic acids however; they may be able to. Generally, carbohydrates and proteins go into the cell through means of active transport.
