a. Receptor potentials move above the threshold, but action potentials do not.
b. Action potentials are always the same size; receptor potentials vary in size.
c. The action potential recognizes the intensity of a stimulus.

The answer would be c: The action potential recognizes the intensity of a stimulus. Action potentials have a threshold potential whereas receptor potential just fire in response to stimulation, they do not have threshold potentials. Action potentials are capable of sensing the intensity of the stimulus through the use of threshold potential. If it reaches or exceeds the threshold potential than an action potential will be fired. As mentioned above, receptor potentials do not have threshold potentials.
