Is it possible for GDP & investment to move in opposite directions in the same quarter? Or Is it mandatory that gross private domestic investment and real GDP always move in the same direction in the same quarter? Why or why not?

Surely,it is. The biggest contribution in GDP is consumption expenditure.Government spending is also mostly moving in the opposite direction during recession.
