Im looking to get a DNA test to either determine my heritage or to what hereditary diseases I may be prone to.  Im trying to decide how to get it done.  Has anyone had any experience with this?  What company did you use?  How much did it cost?  How much information did you get from it and was it worth it?

Don't waste your money... the technology is in such infancy that right now it won't give you much useful information. Wait five years, then do it, and you'll get a lot more information.

If you're really interested in doing it, ask your doctor what organizations they work with that do such things. In this way you will be able to get professional advice concerning the results of the test
