Hi, I'm currently in the process of re-flowing some processor's and noticed that re-fluxing the little solder balls under the processors is needed. Now doing some research, I was looking to find how much flux to actually run down there. I'm guessing that you obviously need to cover the majority of the processor area but I was wondering if you could ever use too much/too little?

Does anyone who specializes in this field know the answer to my q?

You only need enough to get the solder to flow. Flux is non-conductive, so it will not matter if you put a little too much down there, you don't really need that much to solder those joints again.

Too much flux did not harm the soldering process. Too little flux did harm the soldering process.
Flux is not an expensive item, why you bother the amount of flux you used ? Adjust the right amount of flux according to the pass experience depending on many factors like solder alloy type, solder temperature, solder area and size and shape  of parts, the type of flux and its concentration mixture percentage and the soldering time limit.

The tiniest dab of 60/40 multicore solder should do the job. Any excess flux can be washed off using a suitable solvent such as IPA (isopropyl alcohol) and a stiff brush.
