Does winter in the southern hemisphere (for example, Australia, Argentina and South Africa) have the charecteristics of summer in the northern hemisphere?

Well in the southern hemisphere the months of December, January, and February, what we would call "winter", would be hot there. But they actually call these months "summer" there and call the months June, July, and August "winter".

yes, that is one of the reasons that whenever you want to go to one of the countries, you usally go during the winter, unless you are a skier or something. And if you were wondering, that is because of the earthes .

It is still cold in winter where ever you are, unless you are near the equator.

Southern Hemisphere has winter during the months late June to beginning of September. Summer happens Late December to the end of March. (opposite of northern hemisphere).

Winter is still winter, just at a different time of the year.
