1,4 -- The causes of impotence vary. Causes may be related to medication use, performance anxiety or chronic disease processes. The patient who takes medications for sleep may experience impotence. Tranquilizers may be implicated in impotence. Diabetes mellitus over time may result in vascular damage ending in impotence. The mumps may result in male infertility not impotence. A vasectomy will result in sterility not impotence. The presence of cervical cancer in a partner is not linked to impotence.
