increased usage of antibiotic initially strongly defeated microbes. but with time, due to repeated contact with the antibiotics, the power of the drug reduced & bacterias started developing their own immune system's process of increased resistances.

what were previously effective doses are inconsequential now on a/c of this increased antibody resistance in bacterial population.

Bacteria preserve from before our antibiotic era show a low proportion having antibiotic resistance. Once antibiotics came into general use this provided strong selection pressure in favour of these naturally resistant bacteria, leading to resistant strains.

In environments without antibiotics these strains are generally less fit than others so antibiotic resistance declines rapidly when antibiotic use is discontinued.
