I'm a chemist, but currently studying ot take the MCAT.

I'm reading about capillary and exchange of materials through capillary walls.

It says

As blood flows into a capillary, hydrostatic pressure is greater than osmotic pressure, and net fluid flow is out of the capillary, and into the intersitium.

CAn somebody explain this?

Osmotic pressure = pressure created by the difference in concentrations inside and outside of a cell (in this case the capillary wall)

this leads to isotonic, hypotonic and hypertonic solutions....different story.

that's all i got.
