The word degre is confusing as in geometry it goes in cycles of 360. The cyles of the Photons appear to be related.

A "degree" comes from "graduus", step.

Temperature is measured in steps of one Kelvin (equal to difference in Celsius) or Fahrenheit (hell - or rather a linear equation - to calculate from scientific units, different step interval).

With a photon, you measure its energy (planckian quantum h times frequency nu). You can relate this energy to the emission of a black radiator.

Like many things in english, there are multiple means of the word "degree". The angle degree is not the same as the temperature degree.

To measure the temperature T of a photon of frequency f, use Planck's law:

E=hf

where E is energy and h is Planck's constant.

Then E=kT

where k is Boltzmann's constant, and

T=E/k=hf/k
