Explain how sulfur dioxide gas can affect global climate. Also, what role do you think that latitude of the eruption will have, if any, on the distribution of these effects?

Sulfur dioxide act as an aerosol and causes dimming. This means that it blocks sunlight before reaching the surface of the Earth. The more sulfur dioxide you add to the atmosphere, the less sunlight can get through to the surface. This is why, after large volcanic eruptions, there is a slight cooling.
