why the addition of glucose carriers had no effect on sodium or potassium traport

Glucose carriers have a specific binding site for glucose, not sodium or potassium. In order for sodium and potassium to move into and out of the cell, respectively, they require a sodium-potassium pump, which is dependent of the glucose carrier. Does this make sense?
