You take out 0.1 ml of 1:1000 dilution and put it on an agar plate. What dilution of mud is this?
Given: 1 ml was added to 999 ml water = 1:1000 dilution

1 in 1000 according to the lower text anyway

because u have 2 different dilutions 1:100 and 1:1000 in the question.
you are innoculating 0.1ml of whatever dilution onto the agar.
if you use soil watch out for clostridium species
