Why are burns more common in late adulthood than earlier?
A) An older person's skin is more heat-responsive and less able to withstand a level of temperature that would have been tolerated earlier.
B) Loss of sensitivity to heat and a slower reaction time lead to increases in accidental burns.
C) Impaired ability to concentrate or focus on complex tasks leads to an increased incidence of various injuries, including burns.
D) Older persons cook for themselves more often and thus have more opportunity to be injured.
