What would happen if the right side of the heart pumped faster than the left side of the heart?
    The left side of the heart would need to increase its pump rate to compensate for the faster pumping on the right side.
    The left side of the heart is not able to receive all of the blood that the right side is trying to pump and the ventricles will not fill completely.
    Because the heart is two pumps in series, pumping faster on the right side would cause an increase in pressure in the lungs (pulmonary congestion).

Pulmonary congestion.

You'd be supplying deoxygenated blood to the lungs for alveolar oxygen replenishment faster than the left atrium could receive it and pump it out systemically, causing a backup in the lungs.
