Mauryan emperors created first centralized empire in Indian civilization; based on standing army, professionalized administration, replacement of local rulers by representatives of emperor; also broke with tradition of brahmanic dominance by conversion of Ashoka to Buddhism; displaced brahmans as chief administrators and imperial advisors; forbade animal sacrifices on which brahmanic rituals depended; growth of wealth and influence of merchants.

hello from where I could find detailed information on Mauryan emperors? I am studying deep on Indian Civilization
