In general, functions involving absolute values are best broken up
into two different functions and then worked through as two separate
cases. Most functions with absolute value will involve a sharp turn. Find where this function hits that sharp turn(lets call this point x)

So then integrate from a to x, + the integral from x to b. Its hard to explain this without being able to write it out by hand, message me if you need further assistance.
