Which of the following statements concerning bond energies is false?

 a.
A multiple carbon-carbon bond takes less energy to break than a single carbon-carbon bond.
 b.
A saturated alkane has carbon-carbon bonds with very similar bond energies.
 c.
It is assumed that a carbon-hydrogen bond has the same bond energy whether it is found in an alcohol or an alkane.
 d.
The formation of a carbon-oxygen double bond yields more energy than the formation of a carbon-oxygen single bond.
 e.
Bond energy calculations require no knowledge of the bond polarity but they do require a knowledge of the bond multiplicity and the average bond energy.

Which statement about greenhouse gases and global warming is false?

 a.
Global warming increases with increased carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
 b.
Planting trees would reduce atmospheric carbon dioxide.
 c.
Global warming can cause flooding, weather changes, and changes in agricultural patterns.
 d.
Human activity is the sole source of atmospheric carbon dioxide.

1 I concur with doseofmegan; Argon is the most abundant noble gas in the atmosphere.
2 is d.  Bond formation requires energy, it doesn't release it.
3 is d.  "sole" source is the key.  Of course, humans aren't the "sole" source.  Anything that can produce a greenhouse gas is a source.  Humans might be the primary source, but not the sole source.  All the other answers are typical vanilla answers.
