a) Partial payment = $2300.50. Payment is made within the 3% discount period. Hence,
   Let $x be amount credited to the account.
   x(1 - 0.03) = 2300.50
   x = $2371.65
b) The amount still owing is
   7539 - 2371.65 = $5167.35
