Ice-Time purchased hockey skates for $220.00 less 12% and 7%. Expenses are 22% of the cost and the required profit is 45% of the cost. At the end of the winter season, the unsold skates were advertised at a discount of 50%. What operating profit or loss was realized on the sets sold at the end of the season?

C = 220(0.88)(0.93)
   = $180.0480
S = C+ 0.22C + 0.45C
S = 1.67(180.048)
S = $300.68

Sale price = S(1-0. 5)
   = 300.68(0. 5)
   = $150.34

Total cost = 180.048 + 0.22(180.048)
   = 1.22(180.048)
   = $219.66

Profit = 150.34 -219.66 = -$69.32
Hence the store incurred a loss of $69.32 in the end of season sale.
