Although sometimes used synonymously, global warming—the increase in global average temperature—is only one of the many aspects of global climate change, which also includes changing precipitation patterns, melting ice, rising seal levels, and increasing cyclonic storm severity, all of which are indirectly associated with increasing temperatures.
