One thing I've learned by working in a lab is you get frustrated very quickly if things don't work out. I can see you're flustered with this, so try not to!

I'd recommend trying it again at various concentrations, starting from weakest to strongest to see which one your sample responds to best.

That's so true! I've tried it twice with different bacteria but no luck. I hope its not something wrong with the chemical...

Well, to test that theory, aluminum sulfate reacts with base to form a white precipitate

Al2(SO4)3(aq) + 6NaOH(aq)→3Na2SO4(aq) + 2Al(OH)3(s)

If you have hydroxide in the lab, test to see if this happens.
