In the Dred Scott case, the Supreme Court ruled in part that
 
  a. Dred Scott was no longer a slave after living in free-soil areas for five years.
  b. as a black slave, Dred Scott was not a citizen and therefore could not legally sue in a federal court.
  c. the three-fifths compromise was unconstitutional.
  d. Congress had no power to ban the international slave trade.
  e. only free blacks had civil rights.
