Why was the fact that only about 10 percent and 15 percent of African Americans were earning college degrees in 2010 so significant?

  A. This trend could help to account for the employment gaps that existed between Hispanics and African Americans and their white counterparts.
  B. College education was no longer essential for achieving or maintaining a middle class lifestyle in America.
  C. Hispanics and African Americans as a whole did not value having a college education in 2010.
