1.0 - 0.28 = 0.72

0.72 * 242 = Answer

In MN blood typing, homozygous MM are M blood type, heterozygote MN are MN blood type, and homozygous NN are N blood type.

Assuming the N allele has frequency of 0.28, the M allele has frequency of 1 - 0.28 = 0.72.

Therefore:
p = 0.72 (M allele frequency)
q = 0.28 (N allele frequency)

According to Hardy-Weinberg, the distribution would actually be as follows:
p2 + 2pq + q2 = 1

Since p2 = frequency of heterozygotic MM (M blood type individuals), then the frequency of MM's would actually be p2 = (0.72)2 = 0.5184

0.5184 * 242 = 125 M blood type individuals

As an aside:
MN = 2pq * 242 = 2(0.72)(0.28) * 242 = 98 MN blood type people
NN = q2 * 242 = (0.28)2 * 242 = 19 N blood type people

And 125+98+19 = 242.
