1.) the nurse is assigned to care for a female client with full thickness burns over 1/4 of her body. what characteristics would the nurse expect to be of most urgency to assess in this client??

2.)shortly after birth, the head of an infant begins to enlarge rapidly. what is occurring? and why? and is there a clinical explanation and solution to this problem?

3.)An 8 year old girl was cut on the elbow when she fell into a window while skating, this injury caused only minor muscle damage but partially severed a nerve in her arm. what is likely to happen to the severed axons of this serve, and will the little girl regain normal function of the nerve and the muscles it controls???

4.)Janice has been experiencing severe headaches and projectile vomiting. her Dr. suspects meningitis, and orders a spinal tap. why would the Dr. order a spinal test to check for a problem in Janices head???

In the process known as Wallerian degeneration, the axons distal to the injury site deteriorate, and macrophages migrate in to phagocytize the debris. The Schwann cells in the area divide and form a solid cellular cord that follows the path of the original axon. As the neuron recovers, its axon grows into the injury site, and the Schwann cells wrap around it. If the axon continues to grow into the periphery alongside the appropriate cord of Schwann cells, it may eventually reestablish normal synaptic contacts. If it stop growing or wander off in some new direction, normal function will not return.

The most and priority assessment in this client will be his/her respiratory status. (ABC level)
