Philip Larkin 09/10/18 The Voice One thing that I have always been interested is when artist using this method called auto tune and I never really knew exactly what it was or how they do it, but I always knew that they did something to their voice that changed in a way. I kind of thought that auto tuned was like what we all did when we were younger and sing or say things in a fan and how it changes your voice. I kind of thought that’s what it does and after finding the video that I attached it kind of seems that that’s what is happening. To be honest when I listened to this video and heard the two different ways that they sang and how different they sounded I actually liked the auto tuned one better because it’s how I know that song sounds in my head when I think about that artist singing the particular song. When they do it live I think that it kind of sounds flat and monotone and kind of boring to be honest. Once I watched this video it got me a little more interested in the way that they autotune their voice, so I decided to look up how celebrities make their voice sound like that. The way that people autotune their voice is about how I thought that they would make it you use a program to record their voice and then they can just add auto tune and can change the pitch of their voice and can change the reverb of it as well. I think like me a lot of other people actually enjoy when our favorite artist sings their songs in the way that we know it should sound. When I hear someone sing a song in a way that isn’t like the original version that I know that song it makes me wonder what happened and think wait that’s not how that song is supposed to sound what did they do. Why would they change that song like that? It would also make me delete the song from my library which I have done before because it was recorded live. But when we are at concerts or shows and you are there live it sounds a lot better because of the acoustics of the area or concert hall that you might be at. Take for instance on Friday I will be going to see rascal flatts and I am super stoked because of the whole experience of being at a concert. While I know that when we hear a song on the radio it sounds different being there in the atmosphere of a concert is a totally different thing in on its own. And I know that it will be awesome. I splurged a little bit too and got seats in the pit, so it will be even more awesome because of how close I will be.
