09/23/18 Introduction The way different ionic and covalent compounds alter the freezing points of water affect the effectiveness of commercial grade anti-freeze. The molality of the concentrations was determined by this experiment. The samples (salt and sodium chloride) caused the relative freezing point to decrease approximately 30°C every 2 grams added of the sample. The anti-freeze however followed a similar pattern. As more of the sample was placed, the freezing point decreased in a downward pattern, as the time increased. As the sample increased, the time it took for it to reach the freezing point decreased. 2. The following are the graphs from the experiment A. Temperature vs. Time for group 1 B. Temperature vs. Time for group 2 C. T vs. Molality D. T vs. Molality E. I could get the trendlines to show up or the equations. This was very difficult to graph.
