I am Canadian My Identity and My Connections to Nation Almost all of my expressions of my identity are related to my nation I share a common culture and language with a group of people I share a common religion with a group of people I share common interests and experiences unique from other group or territories with a group of nation. I share a common love of where I live with a group of people My nation has developed my love for riding and for rodeo This is a common interest and experience that is unique to my province. While other provinces in Canada have some rodeos, there is only a fraction of the amount that Alberta has. One of my favorite things to do is to go for a trail ride, down the trails, to a magnificent vantage point of our beloved Rocky Mountains. Travelling from rodeo to rodeo has developed my love for our expansive, province with ever-changing scenery, just like it has for many other rodeo contestants. My nation has given me options for school I am free to go to school and to attend a Christian school. Until grade 6, I attended a public school which helped me learn diverse ways of thinking as well as making me exceedingly grateful to be free to attend a Christian school. At my school, I have been taught how to live in a diverse culture but how to hold on to my Christian identity. I have also learned more about my nation and have developed a deeper understanding and love for it. My Family and friends My family and friends share common interests, experiences, beliefs, and/or a common love for our beautiful country. My parents encourage me to pursue the things I believe in and help me learn about our nation. My friends share a common interest with me, such as rodeo, riding, and youth group, and school. We also share a common religion. My friends also have helped me explore and learn about our nation. my faith is a connection to nation I share a common religion with a group of people. Our esteemed country has given me and other people the freedom to express my faith freely. I am able to attend church and youth group without being persecuted. Our national anthem even mentions God keeping our land glorious and free. Canadas laws were based on a Christian standard and still show evidence of it. my Love for where I live I share a common love for where I live with a group of people. Canada has an ever-changing array of seasons. We can go through up to four seasons in a day. I love the diverse group of people who live here. I how blessed we are to live in a free country and to have freedoms that others are currently fighting for. In conclusion, My connection to nation is very important in shaping my personal identity. Without my connection to nation, I would not be who I am today.
