Fallacies
Fallacies, both informal and formal, are responsible for inconsistency in thinking out an argument. Fallacies, are falsehoods in statements, they are bad arguments that people make every day in all areas of life to support their point of view. Fallacies are all around us, people use them every day to bolster their points of view, for example, in advertisements, during campaigns, and sometimes people use fallacies in order to win an argument or refute their opponent’s point of view. Every day, in normal conversations, fallacy can be detected, even in business meetings it is hard to miss them. Bottom line is, fallacies can be very persuasive and some go further to distract someone from the issue at hand. In order to make an informed and right decision, it is mandatory to detect and know when a statement is true or when it is just fallacy. This is referred to as good reasoning. Good reasoning is important because it arms us against falling prey to bad arguments and enticing reasoning.
