Activation of the Anterior Intraparietal Sulcus

Description
The activation is produced by grasping movements made while reaching for objects with different shapes. Activity made by reaching for and simply touching the objects was subtracted from activity made by reaching and grasping, leaving only the grasping component of fMRI activation. (From Frey, S. H., Vinton, D., Norlund, R., and Grafton, S. T. Cognitive Brain Research, 2005, 23, 397–405. Reprinted with permission.)
