The age structure of human populations in West Africa and Western Europe, as of 2000.

Description
(a) In developing areas of the world such as West Africa there are far more children than any other age group. (b) In the developed countries of Western Europe, the age structure is more even. The bulge represents those born in the post–World War II baby boom, when birth rates climbed due to stabilization of political and economic conditions.
