Neurulation and the beginning of neural crest formation in vertebrates.

Description
The four steps of neurulation are thickening and elongation; folding, which creates the neural groove; convergence, in which the neural tube begins to take shape; and fusion, in which the neural tube is completed. In the fifth step, the neural crest cells migrate away from the neural tube to form several other structures including the neural crest.
