Potential energy Vs. Kinetic energy

Description
Energy: Capacity to change the position, physical composition, or temperature of matter – a force that can accomplish work

There are different forms of energy:
Potential energy = energy of position
Kinetic energy = energy of motion
Chemical energy = potential energy held in the bonds between atoms

Energy: can change from one form to another
1. First law of thermodynamics
It can not be created or destroyed, thus the total energy in the universe remains constant

2. Second law of thermodynamics
The nature of the energy will change from a more ordered state to a less-ordered state, if not force counteracts this

Entropy = systems tend to move toward increasingly disorder
