Competing for Pollinators

Description
Mimulus and Lobelia grow together in damp meadows. To test for competition, researchers grew Mimulus plants either alone or with Lobelia. In mixed plots, pollinator visits to Lobelia plants frequently intervened between visits to Mimulus. As a result, Mimulus in mixed plots produced 37 percent fewer seeds than those grown alone
