Sexual Selection: Stalk-Eyed Flies

Description
These flies cluster on aerial roots to mate. Females prefer males with the longest eyestalks, a trait that provides no obvious survival advantage other than sexual attractiveness. This males very long eyestalks have captured the interest of the three females below.
