How do I make agar plates for diatoms?

I'm trying to culture diatoms and I am unsure how to mix the agar. I have liquid ag diatom growth medium, powder agar, gentamicin, and metacilicate. I'm wondering if I should use distilled water and boil it with the powder agar before mixin
