The nurse's best measure of evaluating care of a rape victim is that:

  1. all legal evidence is preserved during the physical examination.
  2. the victim appreciates the legal information but decides not to pursue legal pro-ceedings.
  3. the victim states that she is going to advocate against sexual violence.
  4. the victim leaves the health care facility without feeling revictimized.

1, 2, 3. Incorrect. All of these are plausible scenarios but are not the best measure of evaluating the care of the victim.
4. Correct. Nurses can assist patients through an examination that is as nontraumatic as possible with kindness, skill, and empathy.
