Mitosis follows asexual reproduction and meiosis follows sexual reproduction. In mitosis prophase. metaphase. anaphase. and telophase happen once. In meiosis they happen twice.

What you said is correct. Some things should be inclouded though:

At mitosis, two daughter cells genetically identical are produced from one cell. At meiosis, a germ cell produces four gametes, each with half the amound of DNA of the initial cell.
