Just in the last month Ive heard a number of people claiming that one-use plastic bags from
grocery stores are terrible for the environment. Hah Using plastic bags is by far the easiest way
to carry groceries, and the cost to the store must be insignificant

What will be an ideal response?

ANS:This
passage contains an argument. The issue is whether one-use plastic bags from
grocery stores are terrible for the environment. The conclusion is that one-use plastic bags from
grocery stores are not terrible for the environment. The first premise is that using plastic bags is
by far the easiest way to carry groceries. The second premise is that the cost to the store of oneuse
plastic bags is insignificant.
This argument commits the red herring because the premises are irrelevant to the
conclusion.
