vector. Mosquitoes offer the Plasmodium direct access to the blood so the pathogen does not
need to rely on accidental cuts or openings. In addition, the mosquito solves the problem of
moving the pathogen between hosts. In addition, the pathogen assists the vector by both
making the host week and making them secrete a mosquito-appealing odor, increasing the
odds of a mosquito successfully visiting them.
