Well I thinking of joining the AF in 2 years. I will have finish college and have a BA in chemistry. Apply for OCS.

What job can i go for, that will help me out in the end when i enter the civilian world as an organic chemist. Organic chemist are scientists, so what job in the AF will help me out?

I dont want to go to the AF with a BA in chem and end up becoming a mechanic in Airplanes. I want something related to my major

NO!! Chem in Air Force? NO but! great opportunity in the Army. You can become a CHEMICAL OFFICER! but there is no job like that in the AF i believe. Check the websites to get more info. I myself am headed to the Air Force Academy and I looked into the careers but I didn't find anything related to chemistry. sorry.

Here's a link to officer job descriptions and qualifications needed. Your degree seems to fall into 2 possible job areas,
43 - Biomedical specialists field or 61 - Scientific/Research field. However, if I read right they require Master's Degrees. You can check them out though and talk to a recruiter. There are also a couple of enlisted jobs in the Medical field Medical Laboratory and Cytotechnology that require Chemistry and Cyto wants 60 hrs college with 20 semester hours in Biological Sciences. Tech school for Cytotechnology is 260 days. After that when you get to your permanent duty station you could begin work on your Masters paid for 100% by AF tuition assistance.
