I'm having trouble trying to distinguish between Angular Motion and Linear Motion and how to switch between them. For example:

You are spinning a rock next to you around with a string of length 51 cm. If you release it so that it goes straight up and reaches a height of 12m, how fast were you spinning it in rad/s?

I'm basically having trouble understanding the concept of switching between rad/s and m/s. Also if there's a way to convert from m/s to rad/s or if they're just equal to each other. Any help is greatly appreciated.
